Linking a second IB account to DAS

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have a second "linked" account with IB which I'd like to use for my swing trading in DAS. This is in addition to my existing margin account that I already run with DAS Pro for day trading. I just checked with DAS and they said it'll cost me $50 p/m to add a second account.

Can anyone with multiple IB accounts (ideally linked accounts, which means they are under one main account name) hooked up to DAS clarify their running costs?

Hoping I'm missing something in that setting up a "linked" account in DAS is not quite as expensive as $50 p/m.

Thanks!

I have multiple accounts with IB linked to DAS. You are not missing anything. It is $50 extra per account.

I also wish it was cheaper, but I don't think $50 per month is unreasonable either.

I use two accounts on IB. One for swing trading and one for day trading(DAS).

In swing trades i just look the price action and charts on my DAS and make the order from IB account. I don't even have data on my IB, just on my DAS.  If i don't use limit order, i use IB's Midprice function. In that you can cap the most you are willing to pay, but it tries to get better price.

What is the benefit of two DAS subscriptions? Of course, if your account is huge and daily profits and volume are big, then whats one 50$/month...
