Orders not filling properly

Recommended Posts

Kevin L

Hi guys,

Today almost all the orders I took in the first minutes after the open were not filling proprerly. It probably means than the price moved over the 5 cent limit on my hotkeys, but could it be something else like my internet connection?

What do you guys usually do when it happens? Do you move the order on your chart or do you cancel the trade? Should I increase the 0,05 mark to 0,10?

Then there should be no issue in getting filled. Make sure that your network delay is within a reasonable range if things start acting weird like that. Double click the little thing that looks like a chain in the bottom right corner of DAS. Ideally, it should be less than 200 ms. If it's higher than that, you might be able to try changing quote servers. File menu, data stream mode, switch quote sever, until you find one that works best for you. https://dastrader.com/docs/network-latency/

I had this same problem yesterday, also using CMEG Sim in DAS. It seemed to sort itself out later on, but there was definitely a bit of lag and weird stuff like 1 minute candles seeming to close 10 - 15 seconds late. I put it down to a local connection issue, interesting others had the same issue.

Good! Many thanks, I usually don't mind trading in the Sim on Wi-fi and that explains it.

Wifi should be fine, and I've hot-spotted off my phone on LTE before with the chatroom in the background too with low latency. (Las Vegas) I'd suggest setting your trading computer as priority on your router though, so if you have other people on your network doing stuff like streaming, or downloading updates, it might get weird too. I'd try a different quote server, and maybe rebooting your modem and router.
