marketable limit order vs stop limit order

I am new and wondering, is there any practical difference between a buy stop limit order with a limit $.05 above bid and stop price at bid,
compared to a marketable limit buy order with a bid + $.05 (as explained in Andrew's book)?

Perhaps they are the same on in a literal sense, but I have had different experiences between them.

 

I have had issues personally where my stop order did not end up executing because the bid and the ask missed my  stop price,

whereas the execution would have happened if I only used a limit order.
