Are you thinking of having a live Zoom call while we trade? I'd be interested, although I only really trade the open and I guess I need to focus on what I'm doing and I'm not sure how much use I'd be!

Hey all,

I am looking for some people to work with while starting my trading journey.  I have been reading/studying for a few months.  I recently shifted my work schedule to allow me to trade the open from 9:30-10:30.

Due to only trading the open, I will focus on ORB's, VWAP strategies, ABCD's.  Essentially strategies that can play off of each other. I will officially start SIM trading (using DAS) consistently on February 1st.  I  would like to use this group for accountability, support for failures/successes.  I have found that with most things in life if you do not have a close community that shares similar goals it can be hard to achieve success.

I plan to start making a weekly post every Saturday about where I struggled and where I succeeded.  This first Saturday will be GOALS. I hope you all will join me in some fashion.

Best,

Jarrod

Hi Jarrod;

I began BBT community and DAS SIM in November.  I live on a sailboat and am currently traveling down the Atlantic Coast in Florida.  Good internet and latency is my biggest issue, but I am determined to earn a full living as a day trader within a year's time.  I also only trade the open until 11:30 or so.  I am looking for a serious accountability partner and trading buddy.  I mostly want to work with partners to nail down our business plans and tradebooks.  I hope to begin live trading in March and going from there.   Are you still available for working together on this?

Best,

Joe A.

Joe, Willy, Vandesteeg

I am open to starting a WhatsApp.  I will also be posting my goals and updates on Saturdays as originally planned.  If this group takes off I will respond if more if need be.  I am excited about this opportunity.  I have a few questions for some of yall if you like to answer.

How did you get started on this trading journey?

Are you SIM or Live?

What system do you use? (DAS or TOS)

Are you already set up with a broker?

Bit of personal information about me just so you all can get a better idea of who I am.  I am 28 years old, married, expecting our first child come June.  I am trying to break free from this bondage of immense student debt that looms over my wife and I.  I do not expect to get rich quick.  On the contrary, I fully intend for it take years for this process to reach maturation.  Excited to hear from you all.

Best,

Jarrod

Hey Vandesteeg,

Thanks for the response.  I have been to Amsterdam and London.  Enjoyed both very much and that trip to Europe is what sparked this journey to begin with.

I did not make it rich off GameStop today but it would be great if you did.  Here are my Q1 goals.  I don't expect you or anybody else to go through them, but if you do and want to give me some feedback it would be appreciated.  What I am really looking for is the accountability.

Q1 Goal: By March 31st, I will execute 5 strategic trades a day using DAS platform. Trades will be intentional. Trades will have a clearly defined entry, stop loss, and at least a 2:1 risk to reward ratio as defined by playbook.  These trades will consist of ORB’s (1 and 5 mins), ABCD, and VWAP reversal.  These trades will be executed using Hotkeys.

Q1 Goal 2:  By March 31st, I will be proficient with DAS, enough to answer questions within BBT chat room.

Q1 Weekly Goal: By the end of each week, I will have watched 2 videos related to my strategies (ORB’s, ABCD, VWAP).

Q1 Weekly Goal 2:  By the end of each week, I will have touched based with at least one trading buddy regarding their trading journey.

Q1 Weekly Goal 3: By the end of each week, I will have actively traded 4/5 days in SIM.

Q1 Weekly Goal 4: By the end of each week, I will have reviewed 1 hour of past market date to practice strategies.

Q1 Weekly Goal 5:  By the end of each week, I will have interacted within chatroom at least twice within the week.

Q1 Daily Goal: I will actively trade at least 30 mins a day.

Q1 Daily Goal 2: I will actively take 3 trades a day based upon strategies.

Yo - room for more in here? I'm looking for someone to share my progress with as I'm psychologically getting side-tracked by emotional losses while testing out strategies (I haven't made it to 100 in a single strategy without shifting focus to a new setup midway because I was losing too often imo).

Jarrod, I've noted some feedback on your goals below if you want it. 🙂

- I highly recommend not to do the 1 minute ORB until you're really well versed with price action. If you're good at 5 min ORBs, maybe 1 min ORB is something you can try. I've been down that route and the wins eventually turned out to be the equivalent of fool's mate in chess.

Q1 Goal 2:  By March 31st, I will be proficient with DAS, enough to answer questions within BBT chat room. Why is your goal to answer questions in the chatroom? Why not look to be proficient enough in it to be able to enter trades exactly when and where you mean to and exit them likewise in a way that best complements your trading style? Quantify by measuring things like target entry, stop, exit vs actual and try to minimize the difference?

Q1 Weekly Goal: By the end of each week, I will have watched 2 videos related to my strategies (ORB’s, ABCD, VWAP). SMART goal. I love it.

Q1 Weekly Goal 2:  By the end of each week, I will have touched based with at least one trading buddy regarding their trading journey.SMART again. Awesome.

Q1 Weekly Goal 3: By the end of each week, I will have actively traded 4/5 days in SIM. 3 in a row. And you've left yourself reasonable wriggle room for uncertainity. Remember to re-evaluate any goal if you can't hit it 2 weeks in a row. 🙂

Q1 Weekly Goal 4: By the end of each week, I will have reviewed 1 hour of past market date to practice strategies.You know DAS has a replay mode also for you to replay stocks from 2 days ago right? The only thing missing is L2 info. I even have modified equalized risk scripts to simulate Kyle's hotkeys in replay mode. Happy to share if you want.

Q1 Weekly Goal 5:  By the end of each week, I will have interacted within chatroom at least twice within the week. Awesome

Q1 Daily Goal: I will actively trade at least 30 mins a day. How do you reconcile this with your 3 trades a day goal? Are you in the eastern time zone and start work at 10 AM? I have the same issue and am happy to share how I'm working around it. We might learn well from each other.

Q1 Daily Goal 2: I will actively take 3 trades a day based upon strategies. This is good. Is 3 your minimum or maximum?

What's up RR,

Thanks so much for that feedback, exactly what I was looking for.  It was solid and I really appreciate it.

Q1 Goal 2:  My original goal of being able to answer questions stemmed from the belief that the best way to learn it to teach.  However, you critique was so much better than the goal that I original had that I completely rewrote it now.

Q1 Weekly Goal 4: I would appreciate if you could share those hotkeys!

Q1 Daily Goals:   I just changed my work hours to 10am-7pm (central time).  This will allow me about an hour each day to perform SIM trading. I have to operate efficiently in order to make it to work on time and maximize trading time. What strategies have you used to maximize your trading time?  3 is my minimum.  I heard Peter say awhile back that when you first start out just take trades to get use to the mechanics of things.  After honing technical skilled with DAS and computer than more focus can be placed on trading strategies and execution.  I like that advice.

Today, I ordered the 3 month DAS simulator.  I had already used the free 14 days.  This weekend is all about getting ready for Monday morning.

Also did any of you all get in on the GameStop madness?

Sure, here you go. I guess Kyle's hotkeys don't work in replay mode because of the fact that their time in force is set to Day+.

Here's what I'm using:

Buy long with $80 risk ($100 after all commissions and slippage): DefShare=BP*0.97;Price=Ask-Price+0.01;SShare=80/Price;Share=DefShare-SShare;DefShare=DefShare+SShare;SShare=Share;Sshare=DefShare-SShare;Share=0.5*SShare;TogSShare;ROUTE=LIMIT;Price= Ask+0.05;TIF=DAY+;BUY=Send;DefShare=400;

Sell short with $80 risk ($100 after commissions and slippage): DefShare=BP*0.97;Price=Price-Bid+0.01;SShare=80/Price;Share=DefShare-SShare;DefShare=DefShare+SShare;SShare=Share;Sshare=DefShare-SShare;Share=0.5*SShare;TogSShare;ROUTE=LIMIT;Price=Bid-0.05;TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send;DefShare=400;

1:2 Stop range for long trades (click where you want your stop loss to be and then execute this script via button or hotkey after opening order is filled): ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Range;LowPrice=price ;HighPrice=AvgCost+AvgCost-Price+AvgCost-Price ;Share=Pos;SELL=Send

1:2 Stop range for short trades: ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Range;LowPrice=AvgCost-Price+AvgCost-Price+AvgCost ;HighPrice=Price ;Share=Pos;BUY=Send

I didn't get in on the GameStop madness. Trading that stock would either give me false confidence when I won (in unnatural conditions) or deflate me on losing on a 'sure bet'. I lost 10K on bitcoin 4 years ago when the bubble burst and since then have decided to only play at tables where I'm fairly confident of the probabilities. I'm still in SIM at least till march, and then I'll start trading with a small sum of money (like $300) and size up slowly.

HMU on whatsapp if you're not part of the telegram group already - 2485250382.... We seem to be in similar phases (I got serious about trading back in October) and can learn from each other.
