new 2017 Mark Douglas book

After reading his 2000 book Trading in the Zone,  I noticed that Mark Douglas also put out a 2017 book called BECOMING "THE DISCIPLINED TRADER": INSTILLING A COMPREHENSIVE STATE OF MIND.  Anybody ever heard of it?  If so, was it ever considered as part of the BBT reading list?  Or is this an aberration to becoming a beginning trader?

Hello Matt,

I have not read the book you mentioned. But it seems to be a reiteration of  Douglas' other book The "Disciplined Trader." Here is an amazon link that has FARRRR more reviews than the link you posted.

I found both "Trading in the Zone," and "The Disciplined Trader" to be excellent. 

One side note regarding cost, I picked up my kindle version of  The Disciplined Trader in May for $38. It seems like they have raised the price substantially since then due to the recent influx of new traders. Having read the book, I do think it would have been worth the extra $22 for me. But as you mentioned $60 for any text seems heavy. Hopefully the Amazon reviews can provide you with more insight before your purchase.

Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas was a seminal book on trading psychology for me.  If you go to his website (he passed away in 2015) you can see that his partner Paula T. Webb now holds all of the copyrights to his material and has authored several books of her own.  I have not read the newer book, but at the time of his passing there were new materials in the works.  However, it does seem to be a high price, which means there may not be many copies available.

I also recommend going to YouTube and watching the four part video series "Ho to think like a professional trader."  It is over 5 hours of a live session he did for a DVD series and it is excellent.
