Would love DAS to add Anchored VWAP that is clickable/selectable from charts with the ability to have multiple points selected to anchor the VWAP for that selected period. The Anchored VWAP Setting they currently have just isn’t as valuable to how Brian Shannon demonstrated which I liked.

DAS needs NEWS and EARNINGS calendars on charts like how other platforms do it. With a hot key to turn off/on, ability to mouse over and see details.

OK, I'll give this a try.

I just started my free 14 day trial with DAS (version 5.5.2.3) and am running in to problems. My biggest problem is my charts refuse to show only today's data (i.e. today's candles), but keep reverting me to a chart where I have to also view the previous day or 2 days of data (i.e. candles) (please find screen shot attached).  As a result, I find today's data compressed into a very tiny region at the right of the chart.  I know this problem happens for 5 minute candles as in screenshot, but may happen to other candle times.  When I go into Data Config to change it back, nothing happens.  I can 1) change the drop down box at the lower right to "1 day minute chart", 2) change the drop down box at the lower right to blank and/or 3) Change the "from date" to today's date, but when I click commit, nothing happens and it continues to show several days worth of candles.  I know I can use the mouse wheel to zoom in to the right of the chart, but I don't want to (and I shouldn't have to) do that every time I want to view a chart in DAS.

I even have tried closing out the chart and creating a new one, and have noticed that certain actions causes DAS to force me to view the previous 1 or 2 days of data on the chart.  For example, merely by adding a 200 day simple moving average study causes the chart to automatically display the previous 1 or 2 days of candles.

When I called in to DAS customer service, they acknowledge that the chart behaves the same way at their end.

Anyone else encounter this issue?  Anyone else know a solution? Why am I a rank beginner (just on my 14 day free trial) and so soon encountering problems?

Matt

I occasionally face this issue too, I've learnt to live with it. To quickly remedy the situation I hold shift and select the area I wish to look at (the recent candlesticks).

Abiel,

Thanks for your reply.

II reviewed those 3 threads and it appears to me that there is no way to prevent DAS from Zooming out on my charts.  However, according to that 2nd of 3 threads you provided, merely using the up arrow on my keyboard will do the trick (or alternatively using the mouse wheel or programming F1 to do so.)  To clarify, this is a workaround, not an outright solution.

Please let me know if this is incorrect.

Regarding the first thread you posted, it says to uncheck the Fixed Margin box in the margin section of the Configure dialog box.  However, fixed margin was never checked on any of my charts, and I experimented with this box to no avail.

Regarding the second of 3 threads, this is where I learned about using the up arrow to more easily make the adjustment.

Regarding the 3rd of 3 threads, there are numerous articles posted by Robert H.  One refers back to the first of 3 threads here, and another goes to a thread where you disclose dragging a cursor while simultaneously pressing the Shift button to zoom in to a portion of the chart.

Thus none solve the problem, but instead prevent alternative workarounds.

Please mark me if I am wrong.

When I click different tickers in my marketviewer my charts keep the same zoom.  If i have a 15 bar chart and a zoomed out (max) chart, they keep the same zoom if I click a different ticker.

Abiel,

I dont believe my issue is with changing ticker symbols.

Instead, it seems to occur when I add study configuration lines, like for example adding the 200 day simple moving average line will cause my 5 min bar chart to zoom out, and if I then go into data config to try to set it back so that it only shows candles for the current trading day, I cant as nothing happens and it continues to show candles for the past day or 2.  DAS confirmed that this also occurs at their end, but does not know why.

See forum FAQ > How to correct short/small candlesticks by excluding Studies from Y-Axis Scale (Y LOW, YY HIGH, etc) -  (Told you, everything is in that post)

Hey Matt - Ignore me if I'm way off here, but I've been in DAS SIM for 2 weeks now and feel like all I've done is work with the setups!  Does this have something to do with when you add a study (200 SMA) - you need to uncheck the box that includes that study in the chart scale.  I can't for the life of me come up with the correct wording - and I can't open my DAS right now to get it for you because my trading computer is a gaming computer and I let my son use it on Saturday nights 😉  I can check later if you think this might be it!

LOL Abiel and I were responding at the same time - but yes, what he posted is what I was trying to say! 🙂

I just tried that (unchecking "Include in Scale" box in ExConfig for 200 day simple moving average study) and it makes it worse (see screen shots attached).  Now I get vertical lines on the chart.

You need to uncheck that for all studies except price.

Ok, beyond my 2-week in knowledge 🙂  I think you said you talked to DAS already, I'd give it a try again and maybe you'll get another person who knows.  I did online chat with them the other day for something I just couldn't figure out and they were great and very helpful.  I'm pretty sure the person I was chatting with couldn't figure out my problem either and right before she was about to have me do something drastic where I'd have to redo a lot of stuff, she nonchalantly told me "try this" and it fixed my problem.  I have a feeling she didn't know how to fix it, but just found out about it after working through it with me and possibly someone else with her telling her about it 😉  She was really great and helpful, maybe you should try again and see if you get another person who might know the answer 😉

Edit to add: Or just do what Abiel said above.  I'm gonna bail out of this cuz I know Abiel's got it under control and he knows WAY more about it all than I do! 🙂
