Trading in a Bear Market

Do you have successful experience trading when the larger markets SPY / DOW are down, are unusually volatile, or face sustained uncertainty? How well did you perform? I want to be learning from someone who has not only ‘been in the trenches’, but has been in different types of trenches. I think US markets may be facing uncertainty for the foreseeable future.

 

Yes it depends if stock is in play or not, if stock is only following market, it is difficult, that is why we always look for stocks in play with independent price action from market indexes. If there is no alpha stocks, then traders can trade market via ETFs such as UVXY or SVXY. I had this problem few days ago when i kept trading stocks that were just following market and i chopped out many times.
