Canada Bank recommendation (non-trading)?

Recommended Posts

trynix

Hello everyone,

This is a non-trading question, but given that many traders are also savvy with handling their money (or so I like to think 😉 ), was hoping to get a general recommendation on which retail bank in Canada to go for (I'm new to Canada, just landed few weeks ago). I currently trade with IB USA, so will also likely need to transfer my account over to IB Canada (or open new account, not sure - still need to talk to them).

As I see, main options are Scotia, RBC, TD, CIBC and BMO (I am excluding digital banks like Tangerine and Simplii because they don't provide credit cards to new comers).

So out of these 5 banks, which has been great with their products and services?

Thanks!

Been using RBC since I was old enough to have a bank account. They are also the largest in Canada. They have a good app and online portal... They also have The RBC Bank as their subsidiary bank in the US. Easy to transfer money between.

But to be honest... it probably doesn't matter all that much who you choose.
