Day trading station set up

I would like to set up 4 monitors for my day trading station , after some research i came to find out the below system configuatoin in my local computer shop. Is this fine ?

Okay, so, couple of things:

1) The specs on this PC are for a gaming rig.  It can more than handle simple day trading.

2)  Its missing the graphics card specs. The graphics card is going to be important because you need to make sure it has at least 4 outputs (most mid-high end graphics card have them).  

Assuming the graphics card is a decent one, this setup will be more than capable of running DAS or any of the other trading softwares we use.

Okay so this thing is way overkill than what you need. Like wayyyy. You can easily piece together any PC with old hardware and be totally fine with 4 monitors. I am. I also don't game or anything. 

For speed Id say SSD for sure. M.2 is a lot faster than a normal SSD but not needed. So if you go with a cheaper SATA SSD you can go a lot cheaper on the mobo. I have 4 screens on integrated graphics (no dedicated graphics card) which as mentioned above it the most important part if you want PnP capability with se 4 HDMI ports. (I have a slim form factor case which is massively limiting which doesn't allow for a graphics card like that as well as my like 250W power supply ). I just use external usb 3.0 adapters. 

I would spring for 16gb of ram minimum tho. i5 is totally fine. even a new i3 is faster than an older i7. 

Im just trying to save you money but if you have money, go ham. Yes that rig would be sick but I get by and all 4 screens work well without any issues. (1-34" curved UW, 2-27" monitors, 1 32" tv).

Like Sapperstein said, i5 is plenty.  Unless you plan on playing video games, while rendering videos, and day trading at the same time, what you've got listed out is MORE than enough.

The graphics card is as follows :-

GEFORCE GTX 1650 (nvidia). it has 2 hdmi ports and one dp port. 

 

I can use HDMI splitter to connect 4 monitors.

 

Is this fine ?

I did read the topic in the forum (SHOHW YOUR SET UP) , the confusion is that everyone is putting his own settings and configuration. I am not a gamer so I need to buy the system with just enough configuration to run my day training desk. I do not want to spend more on something i do not use.

 

I will highly appreciate if you could please write the minimum system requirement , I will then hand this over to my local computer store to arrange it for me. I do not know much in IT.

I would add that you do not need both a SATA hard drive and an SSD for a trading rig.  I have a system with an SSD only and love that drive.  Unless you are storing a large amount of data like movies, the dual drive is probably not needed and either would be fine.  It is just a place to save money and/or get the best video card you can.  For perspective, I built a gaming type PC 3 years ago and I have run 3 separate trading platforms with three monitors going and never even come close to slowing the computer down.

Hi All,

Suggestions, try to get at least 24 inch monitors, 1080p is fine. Also I would skip any aftermarket coolers, no need unless your OCing but the market moves fast enough right?

 

Also get this gfx card

Nvidia Quadro P620, I have the P600 and it runs 4 monitors excelently, no splitters, no extra junk, and it's fairly cheap. If you're a gamer, build another rig for gaming, dont mix and match, your trading rig is just for trading. Quaddro drivers are much more developed and stable than GeForce, oh and I wouldnt touch AMD cards.

Would agree with ^ other than the new AMD cards being amazing. But again you dont need the newest. And I cant give OP any exact HW specs because I dont know what you'll be running. I run chrome which eats a ton of ram with a custom coded massive ram eating pine scripted indicator on Tradingview as well as DAS and TWS without issues and the BBT chatroom. And a music app playing music. I dont know what you'll all be utilizing, room you have for monitors, how many monitors you'll want... All I can say is overbuild for possible expansion in the screen arena. 

 

And yea to Brians msg, you only need one HD unless you store massive torrented movies or something. You can just run one 500gb SSD and backup to a external in RAID or a NAS. But one should suffice for keeping $ down.
