New to Bear Bull - Looking for mentorship

Recommended Posts

Adi Adiele

Hello Folks,

I am new to the community. Looking for assistance with the followings:

1. Which scanner can you recommend for me

2. I am looking for a mentor, it will be a win-win for both of us. It will not be parasitic relationship, rather it will be symbiotic

3. Recommendation on books that helped you on your stock trading career

Thank you in anticipation of your response to my questions.

Cheers.

I'm definitely nowhere near being a mentor, but would offer the following for question #1 - Andrew and a lot of the Admins utilize Trade Ideas as their scanner of choice, its very powerful and very expensive! I see others using Finviz (partially free, with some paid aspects). I personally utilize TradingView's scanner as that's what I do all of my charting in, in combination with the pre-market gappers list on MarketChameleon (this list is free, but the full site also requires a subscription should you want it). I'm on a budget and still green to day trading, so I am keeping expenses down wherever possible. In short, it seems Trade Ideas cant be beat, thus the pretty high price, so really depends on your budget and goals. Hope this helps!

Patrick

Hi Adi...

1) For sure Trade Ideas, but at the beginning chatroom scanners should be enough while you build your edge (TI ideas is a good investment when your trading is profitable). For gappers before market open you also can use DAS scanners, and nasdaq Pre-Market Most Active, Most Advanced and Declined Stocks page (pay attention to the stocks with most volume).

2) There are some posts here in the forums of people Looking for a trading buddy, check them out.

3) See book sections of www.bearbulltraders.com For the technical aspect of trading I´d keep it simple and stick with Andrew´and Brian books and make sure to read about the psychological aspect of trading, Trading in the Zone and The Daily Trading Coach will do the work.

Looks like Abiel beat me to it (as he usually does!)

That being said, I highly recommend talking to other members of the community and finding a trading buddy. Having another individual help you review your trades can be a monumental tool to help you become a successful trader.

Something we also offer is we do trade reviews with William in the chat on Tuesday and Thursday. Check those out if you're able -- they're great!

If you need anything, dont hesitate to reach out to me or any of the other team members!

Hi Ady!

1)Personally I use the scanners in the chatroom, which is Trade Ideas, and I'm planning on subscribing to them, with no doubt that's the best scanner one can think of

2)If you've any questions regarding day trading you can always e-mail me and I'll be happy to help

3)I love Andrew's book, the daily trading coach, and trading in the zone, those are the ones that literally changed my trading career!

If you come accross any interesting books share it with us here! I'd definitely be interested in reading them

I heard that the dummies collection is interesting to read, never tried it though, will definitely try some. Thanks for you suggestion!
