Hey fellow BBTers! For background: I'm back for a second time with BBT after a year off. I'm recently a member of the 'restructure' club after my employer has gone through some downsizing activities. I've been paper trading for 3 years with decent success and had been planning to 'retire' in July...so the downsizing doesn't hurt my feeling considering a decent severance was included. I'm taking this opportunity to turn my retirement into career #2...day trader...so I will be going live in the next week or so. I've been paper trading in TOS through TD/Schwab for 3 years. I've been considering making a switch to IBKR and using DAS. I know this is a DAS/IBKR heavy community, so I wanted to get thoughts from folks who have used both TOS and DAS in the last couple of years. I'll be trading primarily Stocks, ETFs and Futures (beginning to study Options soon also, but haven't paper traded yet). Does making the switch make sense? Or should I stick to what I'm familiar with. Any watchouts with either choice? Any other thoughts? Sincere Thanks to all! I hope to get to know y'all very soon! TraderChris

Low commissions bokers using DAS: ChoiceTrade and GuardianTrading
Erwann posted a topic in Bear Bull Traders - Members Only!
Hi, Do anyone knows about ChoiceTrade and/or Guardian Trading? ChoiceTrade is $0 commissions but I don't understand well there Margin : https://www.choicetrade.com/ctpricing.php#service-two Guardian Trading is $0.0015/share, no minimum. Which is very interesting regarding IB with $0.0035/share. http://www.guardiantrading.com/ I plan to go LIVE on November so I'm looking for the best broker for non US citizen ChoiceTrade and Guardian Trading seems good and less expensive than IB. And both use DAS. BUT if IB in Europe don't apply PDT. Choice Trade and Guardian Trading do apply PDT. Any advice ?- 2 replies

Hey Guys, I was looking into CMEG and reading through their website because I am thinking of starting and account with them since I do not meet PDT yet. While looking through the pricing portion it said for an active account it was $2.95 Per Ticket under commission. I got a little confused on that, does that mean if I enter a trade it is $2.95 and then Exit the Trade another $2.95? Or the whole trade itself entering and exiting a position is $2.95? If it is every time you enter a trade its a $2.95 and exit $2.95, would it be the same for taking partials?( Enter trade= Fee) (Partial 1 = Fee) ( Partial 2= Fee) Changing over to IB once account is safely over PDT.

I recently opened my account with IBKR and DAS. I currently have 100K of BP, but I noticed that I could not use all my buying power in a few stocks. For example, when AMC was trading at $30, I could only purchase 1,000 shares, using only 30,000 from the buying power I had available. This is confusing to me because I didn't have any restrictions in the simulator when using my full Buying power. Am I missing something? why do i suddenly have this restriction Thank you Henrique
