[Latency issues with offshore brokers?]

Hi all.  I'm located in California and I'm wondering if there are latency issues with using offshore brokers.  I know some of them use IB as a clearing house, so would that mean my latency would be the same as if I used IB or does my transaction go through the offshore brokerage then to IB?  In other words, is there a larger delay in transaction speed if using an offshore broker?

Interesting, I have been trying to figure this out for the past few days myself.  In my case I was looking to buy right at market open and sell automatically with a +.10 gain.  I haven't nailed it just yet though.  I used average price +.10 in the sell side of my script.  I don't have it handy right now.
