I track a number of stats on all my trades. One of these stats is how many R the trade could have made if I had let it run and taken profits at the absolute best spot. This is called the maximum favorable excursion (MFE). By tracking your trades in this way, you will gain insight into what areas are reasonable to take profits. If you see that only 10% of your trades make it to 4R, you may want to partial much sooner and take bigger chunks with those partials. A lot of this is psychological as well. I keep very tight stop losses, and I am quick to jump out of a trade as soon as it doesn't work. I settle for small gains on my trades, but my win % is very high. This contributes to a decent profit factor, which is ultimately the most important aspect of your trading. I leave a lot of money on the table because I exit quickly, but I don't like to sit through pullbacks or give back unrealized gains. I'm happier this way, and that's important. You will need to do this type of work and self reflection to figure out what your trading is capable of, and what your psychology will allow.

Quickly put together a helper page last Wednesday (?) to calculate the extended Pivot Points. Takes in a symbol, gives you the values for S5, S6, R5, and R6. Note: This is for those that use the DAS Study -> Pivot Points w/ Camarilla and Post/Premarket data included. > Special Note: Daily charts in DAS exclude the Pre/Post market data, so the data will not align (thanks to RP for pointing this out), please use an intraday chart when comparing values. Create a hotkey in DAS with the following script: https://kaelmedia.com/projects/tradepivots/?symbol=%SYMB% To use, just select a montage and hit the hotkey you just created. It'll launch a browser window which tells you the levels for S5, S6 and R5, R6. You'll need to mark these manually on the chart. The API I use for the data may not have all stocks, so just be aware if you don't get a value to first check that it got the proper symbol. It should say the symbol on the page, if not, try it again. BONUS Tip!: For those that experienced the PivotPoint wackiness over the holiday, you can fix this by right-clicking the chart -> Data Config -> Set to 5 Days minute chart (get 5 days worth of minute data is what this means). It'll then have the data necessary to calculate correctly. The default value does not have enough data to span the holiday. Also, may I suggest that Peter's next Thor theme song be a cover of "Amarillo by Morning" as "Camarilla by Morning".

Try selecting hidden windows by going to the Windows menu. At the bottom select More Windows and a little pop-up will display all open windows. If you can't find pop-out windows, you can close them from the Windows taskbar. Just hover over the DAS icon and then click [X] on the right of each row.
