2 pointsTL;DR: Here are some sheets with concise information about strategies members of BBT use. Shoutout to the mods and contributors for the information for these strategies. After watching Peter's amazing presentation about his 'Mountain Pass' strategy a couple nights ago, I put together an information sheet with the setup details similar to ones I had already created for a few other strategies. After putting together the Mountain Pass sheet, I decided it, among the others could be useful for my fellow BBT community members for any of the following reasons: You could use them for your playbook. If you like the layout, you could use them as a template to make your own information sheets/playbook. They could serve as a tangible, concise, introductory resource for beginner traders, who are new to these strategies. The strategy information has all been taken from the education center, success webinars and Andrew's books. I take no credit for any of the theory behind the strategies or any of the images. All credit goes to Andrew, Carlos, Peter and Hiltzy for laying out the strategies so well. I plan on doing more of these as I expand my playbook to include strategies such as Rising Devil, Fallen Angel, 1-Minute ORB, etc. So I will share those in this thread as they are made. If you have any comments, criticisms, or if I have information wrong about any of the strategies, let me know and I can make some adjustments to the sheets. Also, if you have your own playbooks / strategy resources you'd like to share, you can do so in this thread, I'd love to see what you've done. Note: Some of the information, particularly the rules such as "Place stop losses at technical levels." are notes I've made to myself based on results I have found. Some of these may not apply to you individually. Here is what they look like: The files for each strategy will be posted below.

2 pointsI'll second what Justin said. You're being loose with your stops, and quick with your profits. It's something every trader struggles with, but you need to train yourself to be tight with your stops and let your winners run. Here is a technique that has really helped me personally when I'm already in a green position - I pretend I'm not in the position, and I pretend that I'm evaluating it as a new trade in the direction that I want to go (long/short). For this example, I'll just say we're green in a long position. I'll ask myself, pretending I'm not in a position: Would I enter right now? If yes, then hold. If not, then why not? If I won't enter because the trade will probably continue to climb, but it's already made an initial move so I can't get in without a good risk/reward, then hold. If I don't enter because I'm simply uncertain as to whether it will continue long or not, then I consider a partial. If I don't enter because it looks overextended, or it MAY reverse/pull back, then that's a good time to do a full exit. Hope this helps!

2 pointsIf you ain't taking stupid uniformed trades you ain't learnin' bro! The market will humble you, no matter who you are! Everyone is still trying to improve, even if it's their first week in SIM or their 5th year trading live. Red or green day, if you learned and are a better trader because of it, then it was a good day.

1 pointI want to start a stock study group - the purpose of this study group will be for us to go through and show our trades (good or bad) and have the community critique them in a study group type of setting. This will be done via a Zoom meeting. My personal situation is that I am trading live, and I've been with BBT for a bit over 2 years, but I still wouldn't consider myself super experienced like the moderators. I stress that this will not be a class, but rather be a study group where everyone can provide input. I will start by sharing my screen and going over a trade I took that day in DAS, and then we can discuss it and ask questions. Then, the purpose is to let others share their screen, so that they can share a trade they took, and then we can discuss that as a community. It's for everyone to share, learn, and ask questions about trades. We'll talk about both good and bad trades, and any/all techniques or setups that made you take the trade. I'll hold the first study group on Monday, June 22 at 4 PM ET (market close time). If you are interested, please reply to and subscribe to this forum thread. I will post the Zoom meeting details on Monday during the day in this forum thread.

1 pointI really love your last point, about setting the SL just a few cents below or above the 'standard'. That's something I can try myself. Thanks for the tip 🙂

1 pointI had the same issue for many months when trading ORBs. I would have to be at 65% win rate to be profitable even though I always stuck to my stops. I am profitable now even though I have a win% around 50%. These are the changes I made. 1) Make sure your R is completely fixed. If not this causes two issues. Unsure how the subconscious does it but you will continuously see on the big winners you took too little risk and the big losers too much. Also, it is very difficult to analyze your trades if the R is not fixed. 2) Do what you need to do to control FOBW (Fear Of Being Wrong). I instinctively would take a partial way too early so I could lock in a winner. Now I try to set the partial profit locations (at least the first one) before I take the trade. Still it took me almost a year before I had the discipline to wait to 1R before I take the first partial. 3) Move stop to B/E after first partial. 4) Analyze journal to determine which ORB is best. One minute in time between ORBs can be a completely different strategy. I found out I was poor on the 1/2/5 min ORB and was good and the in between. So the 30sec, 1,5min and 3min ORBs are my best. 5) This is the change that finally placed me into profitability for ORBs. Add a few cents to your stop. I kept missing huge runs by the price dropping and taking me out by a penny or two and going for a 10R run. I kept telling myself it was a coincidence there isn't an algo going to my stop and taking me out. But after a 100 or so times I realize that is exactly what the algo is doing. Because I have set my stop in the same place as the other 10,000 or so retailers. So we all can be taken out at the same penny or two because we all chose to have our stop 5 cents below VWAP or something like that. So I added a couple of cents to my hot key. I still choose the same stop as always but my hot key makes the stop a couple of pennies deeper. Same for my B/E stop key I added a a couple of cents. Now, at least half the time, the price drops just misses my stop and the stock takes me with it on its big run.

1 pointFriday, June 19th 2020 Traded SIM and some live. Experimented with low float stocks, and scalping (see the pair of 5 min candles around 9:50). I continue to want to use very tight stops on this "scalping" method. I'm finding out that I need to let the opening breathe a little more before making a verdict on which direction I think a market will go. I'm gravitating to these scalping strategies, opening range breaks. I'm trying to set some levels, namely previous day high/low, pre-market high/low, and previous day close.

1 pointObviously we all know about scanners that can screen for fundamental criteria like volume, float, etc. But does anybody know of a TECHNICAL scanner that allows you to input parameters to screen for particular chart patterns, like ascending triangles, on an intraday chart?
-
1 pointHey @evan Trade-Ideas can do this too. They have scans and alerts for all sorts of technical parameters. Have a look here: https://pro.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#configure_window_specific_filters They have ascending triangles, double tops, etc.

1 point@Matthew This is great Matthew! It's always great to re-watch the content, but having all the information (time, conditions, entry signals, confirmation) in this format, makes it super easy to glance back on! Thanks for putting the work into this!

1 pointHi, I want to try the daytrading simulator. With bearbulltrader, you get 3 months Dastraderpro Simulator for 300 Dollars. On the Dastrader Website you can buy a monthly simulator package for 100 Dollars per month https://www.dastrader.com/form-sub-das.html Do you get the same package through bearbulltrader and the Dastrader website or is the 100 Dollar package on Dastrader different from the bearbulltrader package. The advantage of the monthly price could be that I can upgrade to live more flexibly? Thanks in advance Dieter

1 pointHey @Greg K ! Welcome 🙂 Sounds like your background and skills will give you a good mindset going into trading! Feel free to ask any questions you have!

1 pointHard to say without a little more detail, but in general you're going to need your winners to run longer before taking a partial. I remember finding it hard to trade ORBs when trading with a size that small. Because it's harder to scale out with any significant impact on your P&L and your commissions will kill you. Your mileage may vary, but one thing you could try is when your entry breaks in your direction, move your stop up to break even without taking any partials. This way you can protect yourself if it reverses before hitting 2R or whatever level you're looking for.

1 pointHey guys! I’m Greg from Buffalo, NY. I have a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Statistics, and I’ve had several different analytical roles during my career path. I have been searching for something that I am more passionate about and I recently started reading up on stock trading - My exposure to stock trading in the past has been minimal, but I’ve been trying to soak in any info I can through books and watching in the BBT chat room and going through the BBT learning courses. I’ve been really impressed with how supportive the BBT community is. I’m really excited to start my trading venture and learn more.
