Natural Vitality Calm Magnesium Supplement
This is a specific 'ionic' derivative of Magnesium that helps with tension and also promotes sleep, and it is very helpful with headaches/migraine. Check with your doctor to make sure extra magnesium does not interrupt or compromise any other medicine regiment/absorption.
During the day just add 1/2 TSP to smoothie as needed, or drink on it's own in water in tiny-dose's, it helps calm nerves.
At night, use warm tea kettle water, or microwave for 30 seconds an inch of water in a cup, start with 1 TSP and work your way up to 2 TSP, maybe you will need to work up to 3 TSP, but caution, at these levels it can cause BM's quick, be careful. This is not extreme knock out sleep like prescription, but it works really well. It's subtle. Be mindful and pay attention, use box breath to fall asleep (see below). Basically, you'll know the dose that works for you if:
A. Get good sleep B. Don't crap too fast.

These two homeopathic remedies plus Melatonin only as needed
(So far, no presented side effects though everyone is different. They helped through challenging times with crisis management, work deadlines, long hours, etc. They should always be ran by your doctor first, ESPECIALLY if you are taking other medicines. For example, Melatonin is not to be taken with blood thinners like warfarin.)
Nerve Tonic (Taking 4-7 of these under tongue in tense times as needed, in middle of night if can't fall asleep to busy mind, etc.)

Calme Forte (Taking these if the magnesium isn't enough, or woken up and can't fall sleep again using 2-4 tabs helps, short acting-no long term drowsy)

Melatonin slow release
Using melatonin only when nothing else is working. You don't want to disrupt your bodies natural melatonin production, so use this sparingly.

There is a few other things I would like to try like Lions Mane, which according to Dave Asprey is a God-send for deep restorative REM sleep, I never know with him though, if he is the real deal or just trying to sell something. Gonna try it either way at some point, anything to improve brain function...

BLUE LIGHT (be very mindful of)
If your using your phone or t.v. or even kindle 1 to 2 hours before bed make sure they are in anti blue light mode (iphone has it built in settings - and you can set hours, but television, android, computers, etc. need apps like f.lux). Or you can wear blue blocking glasses. Blue light activates your brain to keep it awake, preventing evening melatonin production and absorption.

Michael Seeley's YouTube videos are great. He has a very pleasant voice for guided meditation, or just straight up drifting off to sleep to. They are also available for download MP3 on his site.
