Hi all. My name is Leon, 41 from the UK. I am a brand new trader, currently swing trading forex in the simulator but I am starting to feel day trading stocks may be more suitable for me. I have read one of Andrews books and that led me to this group.

I am looking forward to learning and trading together with you all.

Dear everybody,

My name is Mauro, 36yo. I am Italian working in Germany as engineer in the space industry.

I got very fascinated by the trading so I decided to give a try to this new possible career.

However, since the first I have found difficulties due to my first job, which is based on careful risk assessments for everything and no room for errors.

I decided to join a community, but unfortunately things got even worse: i have learned a lot of things but they were too focused to "don't loose money".. so i have started to trade "not to loose"... that was very painful for my self confidence. I took a short break and changed community looking for a better match with my personality

Now it's been a couple of months that I am part of bearbull and i decided to have a new start 😅 I like this new environment!

See you in chat and in the forum!

Hello!

My name is Cameron, I'm 32 from Southern California. I work with a Real Estate Investing company by day, and novice day trader by morning ;).

I've been curious about trading for a couple of years, and have been intrigued by the stock market for longer. At some point in the last month I decided to give it a good honest effort. I'm still tentative about things and paying overhead without first seeing if I can really hack it in trading.

I am looking for other individuals that need accountability partners and are willing to answer questions along the way. I work very hard and know that there is a way to succeed here.

Hey everyone

I'm Nate.  I was recently let go from my job as a cloud engineer, in Minneapolis, and decided to move to Hawaii with my wife and daughter.  I read Andrew's first book a few years ago and it got me interested in trading.  Since then I've taken a few technical analysis courses, done a bunch of other general studying, and think I'm ready to ease myself into it.  It's something I've wanted to do for a long time but my job didn't allow me the requisite time to give it a real shot.   Now that I have some additional time I've been waking up for the chats (2:30am-3am isn't easy), configuring my DAS desktop, watching the training courses/webinars, and making some simulated trades.

I may chime in from time to time but I'll probably be laying low for a while trying to soak everything in.

I'm excited to learn and look forward to getting to know everyone in the BBT community.

Hello Nate still at it? I just moved back to Oahu with my wife and kids form Minnesota. I am in my second month of waking up with the markets. Have spent years dabbling and ready to give it a go.

Hi Everyone,   My name is Sudhir. I'm 38yo from Sydney, Australia. I work as Systems specialist at a Enterprise software company.

I'm into early days of day trading and have recently joined the community. So far I have gone through few day trading courses on Udemy, read two books by Andrew and now going through essential courses. Before reading Andrew's book and joining community, I did some live trading in August, got lucky with profits in my first week and then had bad loses in week 2 and 3. (basically I got stopped out a lot of times, plus bad strategy  and also had some issues with my slow performing laptop where TWS wouldn't accept my order changes lol freeze mode!)  Finally decided to look for advanced tools(das trader), purchase a pc and  engage myself into continuous education.

I'm really impressed with wealth of education offered by the community including weekly webinars and the methodical approach to focus on key areas technology, strategy and psychology.

Due to my time zone, I may be able to trade initial hours only. So I will have to eventually develop strategy accordingly. I'm taking it slow for now as there is so much information to digest from BBT community and then practice before I'm ready.

I look forward to engage and learn from you all.  Hopefully a day will come where I can give back to this community.

Hello everyone,

I joined BBT on January 1st of this year and it has definitely been an amazing decision! Prior to joining, I was subscribing to the YouTube channel and pre-market prepping with BBT on my Trading days (Thursday Mornings and Fridays) for about a good 6 months prior to pulling the trigger and joining BBT.

October of 2019 marks the start of my learning journey. I have been on a mission for a few years now trying to find my way into entrepreneurship. I picked up some random books at the library after hitting some brick walls in my endeavor for some time. (The primary struggle being risk aversion due to my low income.)  I had zero experience with the stock market and trading, but I keep a very open mind and decided to start reading a book on Trading Options. I was immediately enamored with this book and the newfound world of trading.  The biggest draw being that one can learn without risking much or any capital. That concept was mind-blowing to me.

I was in another trading group prior to this one and did not have a positive experience socially. I was essentially ignored or bullied for being a female. There was no in-between experience in which I felt like an actual member. Unfortunately, it is a common experience for other females in this field.  In general, I have done a lot of work on myself to overcome social anxiety/low self-esteem issues so as you can imagine, the way I was treated was very damaging. I am very much a fly-on-the-wall here but am looking to change that. I know that it is essential to my success that I start socializing with like-minded individuals. I don't anticipate being bullied here but the hesitation to participate is still there.

Thus far, learning to trade has helped me grow as a person. I have learned to put myself out there and take risks.

In my previous group I learned to trade bear and bull triple leveraged ETF's for Natural Gas and caught on quite well, only trading the bearish ETF successfully (against the bullish trend).  I was impressed, especially considering the fact I had zero structure or actual defined strategy in place. Those ETF's no longer exist, which is a blessing, because that has lead me to BBT and the concepts of finding stocks in play, structure, and probability amongst other critical things.

I am currently testing my second strategy and hoping that this is it. The time and data will tell me the answer. I went into Trading with the idea that it could take me a couple of years to learn. I'm coming up on that 2 year mark, and loving and respecting the process of learning to become consistently profitable. Although I haven't found my strategy yet, I feel confident that I will.

One idea I wanted to share that seems to be extremely helpful for me is recording my trading sessions. Once I started doing that a few months back, I feel that I am learning what works and what doesn't far better and faster. It is one thing to journal and look back at your trades with a snapshot and your afterthoughts but completely far more enlightening to essentially relive it as an observer.   Although, I am only trading 2 days/week or less, I feel that reviewing my trading sessions via recording is really my game-changer. It truly has taught me that it isn't necessarily about the quantity of trades I am able to make, but the quality of my journaling and lessons from the experiences I've had.

Hi All,

I am new to BBT and want to learn trading from BBT community. I started trading in 2020 but mostly swing.  I did a few day trades without knowing many important part of day trading but luckily I did okay. I am using TOS but I feel like switching to DAS since most of the BBT members are using DAS.  Long way to go.  Thanks BBT.

Welcome Jena! Since you've been here a while, you probably know about the messaging group Tiffany runs for the women of BBT. Are you part of that? I'm sorry to hear about the discrimination you've faced in other communities and hope you feel welcome here.

I haven't tried recording my trading sessions, but that is an interesting idea that I may try out. Thank you for sharing some of your process and insights on your journey so far. I wish you the best!

I just noticed this thread, but I've been with BBT since July 2021.

I'm 30 and taking a break from the IT industry to learn trading. I bought my first stock when I was 9 and have always had a fascination with the markets. Covid created a great opportunity to invest further in the market, which led me to give day trading a shot this year. After some early beginner's luck, I began to take losses and moved into DAS Sim. Through meticulous journaling and performance review, I'm starting to see the couple strategies I'm good at...and the several I'm bad at. I'm thankful for this community as it often provides the encouragement I need to get back on the saddle the next day and reminds me that I'm early on in the process.

I love to talk trading so if you'd like to review trades together virtually, let me know! My focus strategies are the 5-min ORB and 5-min ABCD. I'm preparing to go live with these strategies in the coming days so wish me luck!

Hi @Trader2021 Welcome to BBT! I am also on TOS and am sticking with it until consistently profitable and scaled up in trading. My reasoning is to mitigate added financial pressure (fee's, I simply don't like trading in SIM) and I find my free platform to be plenty adequate *knock on wood. It definitely has had it's issues but seems to be fine since the Schwab merger. I don't experience any delays in fills, etc. *knock on more wood.* Make sure your overall settings are set to the fastest speeds.  There's a cog wheel before logging in and then look at your application settings once logged in as well. By default, the settings are delayed. I traded for about a year before learning this.

Best of luck!

Hi Zack,

I do feel welcome here!

I definitely know about the group, I'm just a professional social-distancer.  I will force myself to join sooner than later, lol.

I urge you to try recording yourself for a few sessions and journal off of that! The clarity that comes with it is amazing. And nothing helps me to overcome my struggles faster than watching myself make mistakes. It's painful watching yourself repeat habits you know need changing.  It carries more weight than just knowing what you need to do. Knowing AND seeing/hearing what you are doing really drives the desire to actually change home for me. The psychological patterns become more of an awareness as well.

I am also focused on ORB's right now. I'm on my second test set and keeping the time frames open until I have enough data.

Good luck going live!

Howdy everyone, I am Jonah. I am from beach cities So. Cal. but currently living in Phuket, Thailand.

My profession is in IT but looking to diversify my income stream. I decided to check out day trading because of the freedom that comes along with it. The ability to be anywhere in the world and still able to trade (as long as you have a solid internet connection).

I came across Aziz's book on Amazon and decided to sign up here after I completed the reading.

I am looking forward to learning something new and meeting new and experienced day traders alike.

Hi all, my name is Bret, I'm from Connecticut in the US, and recently left Pfizer after20  years. I've recently been trading more actively since I left Pfizer and realized that I needed a proper education after green day of $13K in Support.com and then turning around, getting greedy, and losing the $13K+$4K more. I realized that I needed to get an education, but I didn't like the "gamification" tone of some of content I was reading online and in Youtube. So, I read Andrew's book, and quickly identified myself throughout, and realized that BBT is the place for me. Started this week and feverishly working thru the training. The serious tone of BBT, professionalism, and emphasis on training speaks to me. Looking forward to hopefully being a contributing member of over time.

Best,

Bret G
