@Jason H.

Hi Jason

I really like your hotkeys. Do you have the scripts for the Stream Deck?

Thanks

Hi Ragycpa,

I have a hotkey file for DAS and my related hotkey setup in my Stream Deck. Unfortunately right now my trading machine is not accessible because we're in the middle of moving. Once my machine is back up and running I'll post both.

Everyone has some really neat setups!

I'm fairly new and I'm hoping to take advantage of the christmas sales going on right now and want to purchase monitors (right now I'm relying on an old 20" 1600x900, and my 52" tv which I have to sit far away from, thus I'm actually sitting at the center of my small living room...)

My question is, 1 center monitor around 4x" with side monitors at 2x", versus multiple 2x" monitors, is that really down to preference? Or largely due to limitation of number of monitors that can be connected?

Second question is, are there any specs to look for when purchasing a monitor? Besides size and resolution (I guess 1920x1080 is the minimum)?

Thank you!

Nice machine Marek! Looks like a beast. I need to get me a travelling laptop. Right now when I travel I trade off my mac using Parallels. Not the best set up.

After being part of the BBT community for a year and switching to live trading, I decided to go ahead an invest in my trading setup. During my 1st year, I was just using a laptop and a 27 inch monitor as I didn't want to invest much without being consistent first. I decided I was going to invest in a decent setup only if I could cover it with day trading profits and I did during the month of March. That was my gift to myself.

I  bought a Lenovo Thinkpad Tiny P330 for $878 incl taxes with the following configuration:

  • Processor : 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8700T 6 core processor (2.40GHz, up to 4.00GHz with Turbo Boost, 12MB Cache)
  • Operating System : Windows 10 Pro 64
  • Memory : 16GB DDR4 2666MHz
  • Video Adapter : NVIDIA Quadro P620 2GB 4 x Mini DP
  • M.2 Storage Card : 256GB Solid State Drive, PCIe-NVME, M.2, Opal
  • Networking : Integrated Ethernet
  • WiFi Wireless LAN Adapters : Intel 9560 with vPro 802.11 (2 x 2) & Bluetooth 5.0

It supports up to 6 screens, 1 @ 4k 60hz using displayport, 1@ 4k 30hz using HDMI and 4 @ 4k 60hz using Mini displayport but I only have 4 screens connected as I this is enough for me right now.

The monitors are Dell U2718Q: 27" 4k resolution at 60hz. Retail price is about $450-$500 per monitor but I was able to get them factor refurbished and/or used for about $250 each on Ebay.

I also got a UPC battery at amazon for $90. So total cost about $2,000 for the whole setup.

Here is my setup. I don't do gaming, so my computer is cheap but powerful enough to support two trading stations if you need to and in addition I heavily use my computer for statistical analysis. Total cost with monitors, desk, battery backup ~ $1800 if you buy most of your stuff on ebay, which I don't see why you should not.

PC - Dell Precision Tower 5810, 4 physical core XEON at 3.5Ghz, 16GB memory (DDR4 2400Ghz). I bought this off ebay for about $350. You can look for more powerful versions of Dell Tower with even 2x6core XEON processors and up to 256GB of RAM. Your budget is the limit.

The computer came with an NVIDIA Quadro K2200 video card, so I had to replace this one with a card that supports more monitors.

Video Card - VisionTec Radeon HD 7750. Supports 6 mini display ports. I bought off ebay used for $155. Here is a version of it on amazon. I am impressed with the card, and so far it even works well with the Ubuntu system I have on double boot on the same machine.

Monitors - I already had a 32inch monitor so I decided to build a 4x32" WQHD. I have two more ports on videocard to expand if needed.

2x Samsung s32d850t - one off Amazon for $400 a year ago, and another one from ebay used for $200.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L3KNOF4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

2xAcer ET322QU from Newegg, brand new, for about $200 each. Obviously the samsung are much better monitors, but the ACERs are ok for this job. I think it is this model:

Monitor stands - I needed tall stands for the second row, and one shorter one for first row. Here is my choice, works fine.

Vivo Extra Tall Stand V011 - 2x$38

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BO42XK0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Gibbon Mounts SIngle Monitor - about $20

Mouse - yep, I think I am developing a wrist problem with a typical mouse, so I tried this one and so far I love it. I think this may not fit small hands or very large hands. For me it is just right, with a little difficulty to use the scroll wheel - need a longer finger. But the ergonomics of it is brilliant. $15

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FPAVUHC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Battery - APC UPS BX1500M - $160. With the current PC/monitor setup it shows 22min work on batt with 4 monitors on, and 60min on batt with 1 monitor on. Planning t by a separate support for my router package.

Desk - IKEA - total for desk maybe $320 at most. Overall the desk seems very strong so far given all the load on it. I keep it in a standing position.

Skarsta desk. I did not buy the top as those were flimsy. Instead I bought a different top and just screwed it in. The price of desk will drop a little if you don't take the original top.

Desk top - Gerton - this is so strong you can dance on it.

Laptop - MacbookPro 15", i7 4 core, 16GB, extra video card can support 3 monitors. I just installed Windows 10 Pro via the BootCamp (it has to be Win 10, as it won't accept Win 7). The Windows itself you can download from MSFT website and create an iso image. Then buy a legal code from ebay for about $7. I have to admit that I have not yet tried to plug 3 monitors to it with the Win system, so I maybe in for a surprise.

If you have any questions or believe I can help you with something please reach out.

paint keyboard hotkeys

I saw my daughter painting with these acrylic paint markers and decided to try a trick. Cheap MSFT keyboard. Decided to not paint on top of keys so it does not annoy me when I touch the keys.

I uses SHIFT as the main auxiliary key for all. I enter a position as a % of BP. My hotkeys to exit a position use SHIFT only to remove liquidity and CTRL+SHIFT to add liquidity.
