Dear everybody, My name is Mauro, 36yo. I am Italian working in Germany as engineer in the space industry. I got very fascinated by the trading so I decided to give a try to this new possible career. However, since the first I have found difficulties due to my first job, which is based on careful risk assessments for everything and no room for errors. I decided to join a community, but unfortunately things got even worse: i have learned a lot of things but they were too focused to "don't loose money".. so i have started to trade "not to loose"... that was very painful for my self confidence. I took a short break and changed community looking for a better match with my personality Now it's been a couple of months that I am part of bearbull and i decided to have a new start I like this new environment! See you in chat and in the forum!

Hi all. My name is Leon, 41 from the UK. I am a brand new trader, currently swing trading forex in the simulator but I am starting to feel day trading stocks may be more suitable for me. I have read one of Andrews books and that led me to this group. I am looking forward to learning and trading together with you all.

I'll get this started. My name is Lee and I'm in Atlanta, GA. I'm somewhat new to day trading, but not new to swings and long term investing. I've been studying various types of trading for years and have been successful at swings and long term. After a 15 year stint in corporate and municipal finance, I decided it was time for something else. Day trading has become that. I'm in the DAS simulator now and am learning new strategies, risk management, and understanding the psychology of trading. I'm grateful that I found Andrew and this group. So far, I'm enjoying it and am looking forward to a successful career. So speak up! Introduce yourself!

Hola everyone! My name is Jaime (Hi-May) M. I am 35 and live in Phoenix AZ. I have been a full time Realtor (part time real estate investor) for 10 years now and have been interested in day trading since 2017. As of July 2021 I have decided to focus my attention on becoming a full time trader. I found the BBT community after reading one of Andrew's books and as of yesterday I am officially an Elite Member. I have been paper trading in Think or Swim all of August and am starting the DAS simulator on Monday. I am looking forward to learning as much as possible and contributing where I can!

Hi BBT, My name's Kevin, ("Gator" in BBT). Joined BBT 6 months ago after doing some trading and reading Andrew's book. I have market experience as a former analyst. I've been in Sim for several months and just began trading live a month ago. Looking for others to chat about anything Trading related. I live on Long Island for those NY metro traders. Who knows, we might be able to get together soon. Thanks, Kevin

Greetings everybody from here in the UK. My name is Kyle Spiller and I am right at the beginning of my journey to learn how to become successful at day trading. My day job is in the field of Construction dispute resolution which developed from my primary trade of Quantity Surveying (not sure what you would call this profession in the US?). Luckily I work for myself so I have the flexibility to perform my day role around US trading hours. This looks like a really vibrant community and I'm looking forward to learning with you all. It would be great to hear from anyone else who is UK based and understanding how you manage the time difference. Best Regards Kyle

Hey BBT Nation! My name is Blake, and I'm from southern Alberta, Canada. I am a small business owner and have always been thinking of something more engaging to do with both my time and capital. I started slowly learning about investing and then came across day trading. I have been reading books, watching YouTube videos, podcasts, etc., and just familiarizing myself with trading. I've also done some spelunking around other communities until I found Bear Bull Traders in March of this year. I have been watching the Pre-Market show religiously since then (shout out to @Norm and @Carlos M. for making it as informative as it is entertaining haha) While also just devouring all the great content on the BBT YouTube channel by everyone. Really great stuff! At the same time, reading both of Andrew's books. I love all the moderators here (I don't want to leave anyone out, you guys all rock seriously!) Everyone part of the community seems really friendly and supportive. Good vibes here. So as of September 1st, 2019, very happy to be a member of the BBT Community! Looking forward to continuing this enjoyable journey with you all! Kudos.

Hi folks! I just got around to updating my profile and thought I would post an introduction here too. I discovered Bear Bull Traders about a year and a half ago when Andrew's book caught my eye. I previously had no background whatsoever in the world of trading or investment, other than occasionally looking at my 401k balance. "How to Day Trade for a Living" really piqued my curiosity and I enthusiastically joined BBT and began learning the art of trading with a SIM account. I went live in December of 2017. Since then, I have discovered a bit of talent for spotting trends, and a whole lot of psychological barriers to successful trading. But I've stuck with it and am managing to stay green and grow my account. I work a rotational schedule that has me away from home 2 weeks every month, so realistically, I can only trade about 10 days a month. That has been both a blessing and a curse, as I do get to pause and reflect every month, but I also feel a bit "rusty" when I dive in fresh after being away for two weeks. I live in Alaska, and along with fellow Alaskan BBT member Yung K, have recently decided to host a meetup on January 12, 2019. Hope some of you can make it!

Hi all! My name is Peter, I am 49 years old and I live in the Netherlands, in the area of Amsterdam. Since a couple of years I want to become a (profitable!) daytrader. About two years ago I followed a 1-day-course and I went through the undoubtly familiair rollercoaster every daytrader meets at the beginning. In three periods I lost about € 30.000 (earned by hard work!), had sleepless nights, and experienced sites of myself I didn't know so well yet (addicted to gambling for example). And then, a few months ago I bought this book, from a fellow named Andrew Aziz. Wow, this was a whole different kind of daytrading than I had learned so far! Apparently, the Dutch course contains all the pitfalls. Like Averaging down, no technical analysis, no stop losses, no riskmanagement at all (if you're out of money: exit your trade or deposit more money...). So now I got excited again and ordered (and read) more books, watched movies/webinars/recaps and last friday: got a lifetime membership with BearBullTraders! Because of work and travels I will start my course seriously in about three months. That's kind of hard for an impatient person like me, but also a good practice in discipline. In the meantime I'll watch, read and write where possible in this community. I am really looking forward to start trading like a pro. My gambling-trading days are behind me and I will make sure that I will become a consistently profitable trader. I have the thrust that this course and community can bring me to a higher level. Hope to hear from you, to get to know you and maybe some time to meet in person. Till then: have a good trading day. Cheers Peter

Robert - Indiana Brand new student here, observing, asking, and learning are my current objectives. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away-- I did some reading on the market, and investing. I soaked up books on the subject whenever I could during my deployments. I believe planning for the future helped me maintain my sanity, and its been a whisper in the back of my mind ever since. I went on to get my degree in social sciences education, and then not work in a related field. I'm a lineman by trade. The money is what drew me in but I have no love for the job. My body does not agree with me as it used to, nor do I feel challenged, rewarded or fulfilled at the end of the day. Furthermore, my coworkers don't want to see their families near as much as they want to see the next overtime check. Don't get me wrong, I am still thankful for my gainful employment, but I do love my wife and I want to be home to enjoy our life. The end goal -- trade full time. I have no plans to quit my job in the foreseeable future, so don't worry. Although, I'm sharing all this with you because I want and will take advice from this community into serious consideration. I have a small passive income of 1600/month, and I have the option to get paid to go back to school as well. It would be about the same amount every month, probably a bit less (3k-ish totoal, enough to pay the bills for sure). I am not entering the simulator yet because I cannot be at my computer during market hours, save Monday. You'll catch me in the chatroom every Monday I don't work OT My current training (three months), aside from consuming literature and the classes now offered to me here, consists of trying to find stocks that may in play before and during my first hour of work. I can only look for the catalysts. Upon returning home my wife tells me what stocks you traded that day. She also informs me on what you traded on the day I'm about to see on thinkorswim's on demand feature as I cannot simulate the current date. I trade, watch your recaps and recap my own day. I'm quite happy I found this community, I did a lot of shopping around in those three months, and this community stood out to us as the best choice. I'm also excited because I'm confident I possess the self discipline this field requires, both in the long and short terms. Any advice, critiques or hardy hellos are always welcome! Thanks in advance for your time. I'm excited to get to know you all. -Robert

Hello Bear Bull's Community, I recently found this topic in the member's forum and wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Esam E. and I am from Cairo, Egypt by way of Orange County, California. I recently graduated from CSU Fullerton with a B.S. in Accounting and Finance, and I am currently a Master's Candidate in Accountancy, at the University of California, Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business. I currently work as an Accountant for a small firm (from home) and have aspirations of becoming a licensed CPA. I have been Swing Trading the last two-years (on Charles Schwab SSE), and like many others was wondering if I could parlay the success I had into an actual career as a DayTrader. After much due diligence and a couple epiphanies later, I stumbled upon Mr. Andrew Aziz's book(s). I was really blown away by the level of honesty in Andrew's book, something that I was hard-pressed to find in other "guru" books circulating out there. After checking out the BBT website I decided to join as a Pro member with the DAS Simulator package. Quick sidebar: I joined online on 7/24 and had not heard back from Andrew after four days or so, so I sent him an email asking when I could expect to get access to the simulator, in hopes of starting to practice on that Monday of the following week. Andrew quickly replied back and said that he would have me setup by the end of the business day. Awesome customer service right! That Sunday, 7/29, I receive my first BBT Newsletter, and low-and-behold, it turns out Andrew was on his excursion in Mexico, conquering mountains and such. So Andrew, while on vacation in Mexico, hiking nonetheless, took the time out of his trip to set-up my account!! I do not know about you, but I tend not to work on my holiday's. Just goes to show the type of business-owner and man that Andrew is. So I have currently been in the Sim. for the last few weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed not only the daily-lessons from Andrew but the engagement from the community on BBT as well. I have so much to learn, and am genuinely excited about the path laid out by many before me. I would be remissed if I did not say that my intention was to make a lot of money (originally at-least), but after reading Andrew's books and practicing on the SIM (albeit for not to long), and listening to all the wonderful advice in the chatroom and in the classes, I feel I have a chance. That is truly all I wanted! This will not make me rich (quickly), that I understand, but being able to have the chance to take care of my family and do better financially then I have ever thought possible, on my own-terms, that is opportunity I do not want to waste. Thank you to all for your continued support. Happy trading! - Esam E.

Hi guys! I've been here for like a month but never introduced my self here :DD My name is Aiman, I'm an Arab, well, half an arab My mother is Russian, I've lived half of my life in Russia, the other half in Yemen, currently I live in Russia; Studying actually :DI'm a medicine student, I want to become a heart surgeon xD. I've never known that stock markets actually exist, and that everyone has a chance to trade! First time I heard about trading was related to cryptos, I thought it was an easy way to become rich, I read lots of scams, youtube videos that explained how easy it's to become rich by investing in cryptos, so I opened an account on some website, made a small deposit(500 euros) and on march bought at 12k hearing that it's going back to 20k and even 100k!! So dump right?)) Anyway, it fell to 8k, and I kept holding, then 9k, and I decided to get out, luckily my loss was 30% of 500 euros not 30% of 5000!!! I started reading about cryptos, support and resistances, and how to trade them, eventually I figured out that wasn't for me, and it's not a profession one can hold on to, maybe only hope. Along with cryptos I was reading about stocks, investing, and swing trading, but I figured out that with my capital I'll suffer there. Eventually I came across day trading! I watched tons of videos, read tens of books, got attached to it. My last book was Andrew's book'How to day trade for a living'. Honestly! Best book I've ever read, so simple, has everything summarized. It made daytrading simple! I was so confused with those lagging complicated indicators that I felt I'll need years to figure them out, I actually was ready to study even for years, :DD I mean comparing 6 years in medicine to 3 years studying indicators? It worth it:D Anyway, after Andrew's book, and how simple he explained everything, I searched for him in youtube, I watched all his recaps, emailed him a few times, and I actually was surprised how fast he was responding! I texted a lot of youtubers seeking for information but their answer was mostly"Sign up to my chatroom and you'll get everything you need, everything I do is taught there!" Andrew in compare to every other traders was humble, and helped for free :DD Answered all the questions I asked without asking for anything in return, I really loved that and after that I decided to join the chatroom, I paid for anual member ship+3 months das simulator, I might pay for 3 more months because I want to practice more, and hopefully in the next week I'll pay for a lifetime membership :DDD I really love this community, members here are nice, helpful, and overwhelming :DD Thank you for doing everything you do xD

Hello. My name is Jay S and I live in Minneapolis. Looking for others in the area that I can connect with. I am brand new to trading. Still working in Corp America, but am looking to for something different. My learning curve will be steeper as I do have a full time job and want to make the transition to trading slowly. But, I hope to learn from Andrew and the group here.

Hello everyone. My name is Garrett, I’m 34 and I’m from the Buffalo NY area. For my entire working career I’ve been in a local family retail business which has since shut down like a lot of other retail stores these days. I currently run a small online retail operation but am looking to pursue my passion of day trading. I have some previous swing trading experience but it’s day trading that suits my personality. I have a unique opportunity that affords me the time in the morning to trade in the simulator and then move on to managing my business after that. I, like most everyone else, found Andrew’s book on Amazon and read it numerous times. I joined the chatroom and began simulator training in May and have a goal of going live in August, small size. The chatroom and forum has proven to be extremely valuable in that we are able to learn from other members’ stories and experiences as well as ask questions. The moderators are all amazing and are very open and helpful. I look forward to learning much more and being a part of this trading community. Many thanks to Andrew and the other members and moderators.

Hi, I'm Kyle .. KyleK29 in the chat. Almost 34 years young. Here's a brief overview of my journey so far .. At age 13, I started on an entrepreneurial path doing Web Design work while living in Silicon Valley - my first "company" I guess. That work eventually led to some decent full time positions, a move to Las Vegas, and continued personal growth until I took a jump of faith and left it all for a tech start-up. That didn't last long (they rarely do) and I went back to school, juggled college hockey, work, and school to earn my degree in Sports Medicine / Entrepreneurship. While there, I dabbled in a crypto-mining operation before a professor I was helping at a startup competition convinced me to enter another project (A.I. related) of mine - one thing led to another, I won a few regional's, finished as a semi-finalist at nationals, and made a push for the tech start-up dream - a free cereal bar, and nap pods! A few radio interviews, newspaper articles, and VC pitches later, we lost momentum and sit in limbo [no one said this would be easy]. So not one to sit still (it's a problem), a programming side project related to trading led me to pickup a book I bought years prior - Harvey Walsh, Day Trade for Profit - not a bad book, but it rekindled something I've always wanted to learn. I read a few other books (including Andrew's), and tried a few other places before landing on BBT. It proved a much better fit for me and I quickly jumped at the lifetime membership. With that in mind, you'll likely find me helpful, if not a little optimistic at times. I don't believe that the journey in life is set in stone, it just takes a constant stretching of your comfort zone (rhyming unintentional) and a willingness to accept mistakes as excellent opportunities to learn.

Thanks Carlos, Great Interview the other day with Andrew. I can relate to the think or swim application not being very compatible with how this community trades, as I had the same experience in the simulator trying to get orders filled. Looking forward to downloading the DAS trader this Friday. Mike

Hello everyone, My name is Michael. I live in the LA area with my family but stay in the San Diego area Monday through Friday for work. I am currently serving in the Marine Corps and just returned in May from my 4th deployment to the middle east. After 21 years of service, I am finally calling it quits and looking to transition to another opportunity in about 18 months. I have always been interested in day trading but could never seem to find the right resources to educate myself, until last February when a fellow Marine happened to mention Andrew’s book. I was sold after reading the first chapter and have been diligently learning something new each day since. I really looking forward to attending the classes at 5pm instead of 3am. Right now, I am fighting through the technical frustration of setting up my trading station and developing a routine in my new work environment, so I can start the simulator June 1st. It is amazing to me how difficult it has been to establish a reliable internet connection outside of my house. Hopefully, by the end of the week I will be ready to download the DAS Trader. Look forward to the conversations in the chatroom, classes, and mentorship webinars. Thanks Andrew, Brian P., members of the chatroom, and the rest of the bearbulltraders team who make this community what it is. Mike B.

Hi I am Jimmy Hung from Austin Texas, I was in a PhD program in Economics at UT for a little bit and then decided to not pursue a life in academia, and now working as a healthcare data analyst for over 4 years now for large healthcare group in Austin. I jumped around a little bit on day trading education on Tim Sykes, Warrior Trading, Investors Underground, etc. I never fully committed to anyone of them, because I felt that they are more into marketing than actually delivering content. I found Andrew through his amazing book on Amazon for free (prime member) and quickly fell in love with the people in chat room and overall down-to-earn style of the community. I really like Andrew's style of delivering his trading knowledge through live trading, he gets to the point and not gives you a bunch of marketing BS that other famous trading education is about. To subscribe to a live trading education along with Andrew for 50 dollars monthly (now I am a lifetime member) is so much worth than signing up a 6k protege education from other trading services. I am still in simulator, and learning period. I really hope one day I can trade my way out of a full time job. I hate 9-5! It might be a wishful thinking, but seeing Andrew, and so many people here traded their way out of a job is very inspiring and this is doable as long as I stick with it and trade properly. -Jimmy

Hello, My name is Lana. My husband and I have read the book and are taking the next step, joining the group. We are sharing an account right now. Our goal is to make day trading a career together. We are both very new to day trading so he is making flash cards for us and I'm reading & watching all I can. Once I clear my schedule we will start doing the simulator. My goal is to replace his current income so he can quit his job and we can do this full time. I'm excited for this new chapter of our life.

Hi, I am Pankaj. I live in Sweden and read Andrew's book about a month ago. I joined the chat room and got a simulator account 2 weeks ago and have been trading in the simulator ever since. I am an engineer by profession and I have been working for large and small companies for the past many years. My main goal with day trading is to become a little more geographically mobile. I love the technical analysis part of day trading and would like to get better at it. I feel that I make a lot of mistakes when I place trades and there's a big improvement potential there too. But, that is why I am quite glad that Andrew advises everyone to start trading in a simulator. Had I started trading with real money I would have lost all of it by making silly mistakes by now :). Looking forward to getting to know some of you here in the trading room and the forum. BR Pankaj

Welcome! I hope you can enjoy this new challenge. My only advsie is do not trade with real money right away. It looks very lucrative and easy, but it is not. I am sure others can comment on this too. I am glad you liked the book. Would you mind writing me your honest review on amazon.com? I very much appreciate that. Cheers,

Hi All, My name is Marcel Perez and I just joined as a lifetime member. I am 28, originally from San Juan Puerto Rico but have been living in Miami the last couple of years. I have been working in the financial services industry for six years, including vc/private equity, commercial banking and M&A / Strategy for two telecommunications companies. After six years of working and reaching what people call success, making decent money, I felt I needed a challenge in my life; life was becoming too easy and comfortable for me. Also, I have always wanted to work on my own terms and have control over my time reason to why I have chosen to learn about day trading with the goal of making it my long-term career. I will be leaving my job in april and will be living off savings and doing part-time freelancing at night until I become profitable. I am very happy to join this community and hope to meet some of you soon!

Hi everyone ! I'm Christophe from France. I'm 32 years old and I live in Lyon. I began trading 5 years ago, reading books about the subject and I put money for real about 3 years ago. I made good money last year with swing trading and I quit my job with a prime so I can live about 1 year without the need to make money from trading during this period. Basically, I'm a swing trader but I have began to be interested in day trading after reading Andrew's book and seeing that, contrary to popular opinion, you don't need to spend all the day in front of your monitors with day trading. I trade on US market because French market is too small and not enough volatil for day trading. I don't want and I can't spend to much time on day trading on US market because when the market opens in NY, it's already 3:30 pm in France. My goal is to live from trading. I would like to spend my time on swing trading the morning, and to do day trading the afternoon. Cheers, Christophe

Hello all, I'm David (Smith) so one of the three or four 'David S' in chat. I live in southwestern Connecticut. After a career of 30 years in IT, including consulting and development work, I had just grown weary of dealing with clients on a daily basis. I too have a finance degree as others have mentioned here, but after that fateful first job out of college, I was well down the IT path. Have always had an interest in the markets, and based on proximity to where I live have many friends that are full-time Wall Street types. Started reading and learning about day trading in the Fall of 2016 and began trading exactly a year ago today, so Jan 10th 2017. Would love to say I was a huge success, but had a couple of day trades that I turned into "investments" because I couldn't let go of the loss the day I entered the trade. Only to liquidate months later with much greater losses. By September, outside of my two big mistakes, I was more or less breakeven from a gain loss perspective but my p&l was bad because of commissions. Needed to change up things and looked around for some additional reading material and found Andrew's book. Really like how unassuming and down to earth his approach is and accessible to new traders. Signed up for chat, classes and sim where I traded Oct-Nov-Dec. Back live now in January and working towards consistency. My biggest enemy right now is overtrading, and that is my primary objective for the next few months, take only well thought out trades and don't jump into anything. Really like the chat community and look forward to hearing more about your successes and challenges as we all build our trading competency. Cheers.

Hi everyone, I'm Patrick and I live in the Orlando Florida area. I run my own business (I'm a DJ for weddings and events) which doesn't have much of a connection to the financial markets but I actually got my degree in finance and so I've had some interest in the markets for quite a while. I. like many others here, would like to put myself in a position where I know I can make consistent money from the markets. Found Andrew through the Desire to Trade Podcast interview and bought the audio book (I prefer audio books because I'm a slow reader) and thought he made a lot of sense. I've been down just about every road in trading, stocks, options, forex, futures and my journey has been somewhat of a roller coaster ride. I'd like to say that I've made more than I've lost, which is true more recently but I have blown up a few times. I've just started the learning process here with Andrew's methodology. I like what I've seen and I'm looking forward to learning a lot here.

Hi all! My name is Jason (Jason H. in chat) and I live and work in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am a User Experience Designer at a startup and lead a small team of designers. I got interested in day trading about a year ago but only started taking it seriously in November. I enjoy a lot of hobbies and side gigs. I work as a stunt coordinator in the film business, teach acrobatics and stunt work, design and build hardware products, and tinker with whatever is on hand. Ultimately I hope that trading will give me the flexibility to pursue the other work I enjoy.

Hi Everybody! My name is Ryan (Ryan W in the chatroom). I live on Long Island, NY and I'm an IT consultant with my own business. I have been in IT for about 15 years now (I'm 32 and got started when I was 15). I have Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Information Systems. I have always been interested in trading. One of my best friends is Jesse Colombo (look him up). He introduced me to trading and finance in general while we were in high school, but of course I was only concerned with girls at that time lol. As I got older, I realized how interesting the markets are. I love staring at charts and trying to understand the underlying sentiment and what is happening on the screen. I started swing trading more actively in 2010 and was basically just treading water. I wasn't a fan of the overnight risk and after having awoken to several of my positions being down due to news or earnings, I realized swing trading wasn't great for me. I started to look into day trading. I got involved with Trading Education company here in NY and provided IT services for them. I was exposed to day trading more and was really enthralled by what was happening. Of course, this particular company wasn't known for the most honest and realizable trading education, so I took what I saw with a grain of salt. I received some exposure to some really great traders and mentors though, but their strategies and styles never really worked for me. After almost 4 years of day trading and having whipsaw emotions and losses, I am happy I found Andrew. I bought his book and was literally on the verge of giving up, but seeing how he trades and understanding his style and strategy has helped me immensely! The IT field has changed dramatically from when I first got started, even when I was in school (seems like a million years ago) and I am just sick and tired of it. I have been wanting to switch over to full time trading for years now, but the strategy I was trying to make work never worked. The person that taught me doesn't trade this style (even though he teaches it) and it just ended up costing me a lot of time and money. Now that I am on the right track with Andrew, I really hope to move over to full time trading sooner than later. Since I work for myself, I am able to balance trading and my clients. Of course, some days that's not always the case, but it does give me the opportunity to have the exposure I need. I look forward to working with everybody both here in the forum and in the chat!

Hello, I'm Mark from Minnesota. At my last job I was a security engineer for a bank where I made more money than I really needed. I keep my living expenses very low, so that wasn't difficult. All of it went to savings and I figured I should probably do something with it rather than let it sit there. I started swing trading, though I had no idea that it had a name and wasn't very successful at it (truly an understatement), though I definitely saw the potential in it. When I was laid off last month, I started researching and studying and realized that the rules of day trading fit my personality to an absolute 'T'. I had never actually enjoyed swing trading. I hated having positions sit open while I was at work, or after the market closed, or while I slept, but didn't realize it was an option to open and close them only for very particular periods of risk or reward. So, when I stumbled upon day trading, it felt like coming home. My first week day trading was green and I was surprisingly good at it with very little knowledge or experience yet, but I was using Robinhood to trade on my phone and a demo tradezero account to watch stock tickers on a really janky laptop. Despite being green and quickly identifying profitable patterns, my setup was less than ideal, so I quit trading and started educating myself while I researched good day trading office setups, which is when I joined BBT. My collection is nearly complete and I'll begin trading sim next week in a fully loaded home office to test out how well I do. I'm excited to work with everyone here, and for the future ahead.

Hello all. A bit about me; I’ve been in the market for some time but am new to self-directed trading. (I avoid the term ‘Day-Trade’ because I do long term, Swing, and Day trading). My first trades were in 1974 placed with my father, a money manager. In ’78 I was considering leaving the US Navy (SS), so my fathers firm offered sponsorship for a Series 7 course and test. I took the classes, passed the test but decided to stay in the Navy, probably the better decision. Time has proved I’m not a great salesman. Dad, having gone independent, kept my account until he passed away in 2012. My account got moved to a big-box house – that didn’t work out. I moved it to another big-box house. No real attention paid there either. In October of 2018, I moved to Interactive Brokers with the idea of a self-directed account. Looking at retirement and the fact my wife is younger and can’t retire for several years I decided to learn the day and swing trading methods. I own a small company. Having a great staff allows me to trade and learn from 8 – 11 daily. At noon I go back to work - keeping the chat room open and listening. The plan is to fund and supplement my retirement- I like to spend money and have hobby’s that suck funds. Grasping the day/swing methods should allow me to continue without backing off spending money! I’ve taken a small portion of my account, and I mean small, to set aside for learning. I started with Trade-Ideas and Interactive Brokers. I was using Trade-Ideas Brokerage Plus for my trading platform. I went looking for more abilities. I found Bear Bull Traders and DAS. My first week with DAS and a full (not trial) BB membership I now know the following: It’s not a good idea to be so nervous about mixing up your live and sim accounts that you rename UXXXXX to LIVE. The Out-of-the-Box default will trade the first account in ALPA order. L before T! Yeah, not a good thing – my bad. Just leave the names alone, you with acclimate. I’m not a hot-key guy but like buttons and writing scripts. Montage will be great. I miss the ‘snap-to’ boxes Trade-Ideas has when arranging my DAS layout. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to layouts. I miss the ‘right-click’ – trade from the chart ability too! The Forum can be a great source of information; better than the DAS manuals. The available training materials at BB are worth the investment. DAS matched with Trade-Ideas makes for a tremendous arsenal of tools. The trading room is helpful. My brain in the room: ME: I’m glad I got in this stock at the pullback. Andrew: If you got in at the pullback you did good. Andrew: I think this is now a short. Me: No-way- it’s got another 30 points. Me; Oh crap, I’ve got to bail! I have enjoyed hanging around. I don’t know that you will hear much from me other than this very verbose introduction, but I’ll be around listening and learning. Trade well,
